Once, you start making changes to the pattern you are entering into R&D and venturing into the unknown. We already know how the Viberg engineer will look, fit, and function. Their engineer boot is a take on a classic boot that can be worn fashionably with just about anything. Viberg pretty much nails it with their patterns and builds. That is a 7 inches across (diameter), which is shorter than the majority of most pant hems. The deeper than normal side gusset Viberg uses remedies the issues using a shaft circumference of 14 inches. The single side gusset allows the shaft to keep shape over time. If you do that the shaft will not hold up well and will probably lose it's structural integrity as time goes on. You will need more buckles and straps or full shaft zipper to secure the full side gusset. Also, fully gusseting the entire shaft from the top down or gusseting the other side is not a good idea. Nor am I going to wear them like women wear tall shaft boots - shaft over pants.įok mentioned we are not allowed to change the pattern. I can't speak for everyone, but I'm not interested in tucking my pants into a boot (blousing). I understand those that go for the male model skinny jeans/pants look. As far as skinny jeans, well that's not my thing. The shaft pretty much hugs the bottom portion of the leg. You will not have a problem wearing slim jeans with these. How much narrower could you possibly make it before you can't even pull or put the boot over the bottom portion of your leg. The shaft at the top circumference is 14 inches.
